Farming & Cheesemaking during the COVID 19 Pandemic

We take the safety of our family, our employee, and our customers very seriously. As farmstead cheesemakers food safety is already a very large part of our day to day operations- we are very conscious of our responsibility to provide you with healthy, safe food. It was already standard practice for us to wear gloves anytime we are handling cheese, clean and sanitize food surfaces, and maintain high standards for personal hygiene. During this unprecedented outbreak we are taking even more steps than usual to ensure that our farm and our food production is not putting anyone at risk. We are washing our hands even more frequently and thoroughly, wearing gloves, and frequently sanitizing surfaces such as coolers, farm store fridge handles, and doorknobs.

Our farm store remains open during this difficult time, and we are attending farmers market during our usual season (May-December). The farm store, as an honor system store, fits very well into this new era of social distancing- but we have started frequently sanitizing surfaces in the store that are touched frequently such as door and fridge handles, and the mail slot where envelopes are placed. We also have a hand sink outside that we encourage all customers to use before and after entering. As the store is small we also encourage you to wait in your car if there are already customers inside the store in order to facilitate appropriate social distancing. We strongly encourage customers to utilize online payment options whenever possible (instructions are in the store).

We have decided to reopen baby goat visiting for the 2021 season, with modifications to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff, and animals. Please visit our baby goat visiting page for full details about how to come enjoy the babies!
